V-card ("we", "us", or "our") operates a mobile application that helps members manage medicine access, reminders, refill requests, pharmacy rewards, and chronic care information in one place (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account, you confirm that the details you provide are accurate and agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: name, phone number, email address, date of birth, and password when you register.
- Membership data: your V-card membership number, QR code, and reward points balance.
- Prescription & refill data: uploaded prescriptions, refill requests, selected pharmacy, and pickup details.
- Health information you choose to provide: chronic conditions, allergies, blood group, vitals (such as blood pressure, weight, or blood glucose), habits, and your doctor's contact details.
- Medical aid information: policy number and provider name, if you choose to add cover details.
- Device information: device type, operating system, and app version.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and verify your account and digital membership card
- Process prescription and refill requests with participating pharmacies
- Track chronic care information you provide and surface relevant health tips
- Calculate and award loyalty points, membership tiers, and rewards
- Send reminders, notifications, and account-related communications
- Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the App
Sensitive health information should only be entered for your own records, or with the proper authority to do so on behalf of someone else.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Participating pharmacies and branch staff, so prescriptions and refill requests can be reviewed and fulfilled
- Service providers who help us operate the App (e.g., hosting, analytics, customer support)
- Authorities, where required by law or to protect our legal rights
Note that the App experience may include branch-assisted services while requests are reviewed by pharmacy staff — submitting a request in the App does not guarantee immediate dispensing, delivery, or approval.
4. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal and health data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal and health information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Withdraw consent for notifications at any time
To request account deletion, visit our Delete My Account page.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, and secure on-device storage for verification codes, to protect your information. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above.
